Let me tell you about today. 6am goes the alarm clock. Ayumi, aren't you on holiday? Yes, I am! But since I am here only till Saturday It would be a waste to spend the time in bed. But since I am also used to Saba's "hard working hours".. Well you know what I mean. I do miss mr Percy and the chickens in the morning though...
Back to my story.. So I stood up and at 7am I had my cup of coffee on the beach. There I was looking at what I would do today. I decided to go to Peter Island and to a wreck dive on RMS Rhone.
There the adventure started. The taxi picked me up and I told him that I needed to pass by the ATM to get money to go to Peter island. First ATM: broken. Second ATM: "you can not take Belize dollars" what the.... I am in the virgin islands with only the USD currency?! Third ATM: your cash withdraw has been canceled (4x)..
So because I did not have enough money with me to go back to the hotel, the taxi driver dropped me somewhere near the busses and taxi's. And not to forget that it was pouring and thunders all around.
I waited there for 1,5h till someone had to go the same way so I would have the money to get back to the hotel.
Once at the hotel, I got my passport and went to the bank. There I go again, back to Town. Because the bank only accepted 1 to 2 travellers cheque, I had to go through all 3 banks on the island.
Once I got my money, I had to decide what to do today, since I lost half of the day. After I had lunch I decided to go to the zipline. Some of the citizens didn't even know about it and after I called the zipline office, they told me: "there is no one today to go for the zipline. The office is open, but you can come tomorrow" eh... What about: "no"?
After that I hitch hiked to Nanny Cay, I had enough of taxi's. There I went to the dive center to plan a dive at the Rhone and Dead man's chest island. After that I hiked back and after I got tired I got a ride to the hotel. I made very long beach walks and at the end I ended up at a free cocktail party on Long Bay Beach Resort. Nothing better than breaking in into a hotel and have free rum punch. (C'mon I am Dutch!) But nothing beats the Saba Mama from Pouchie and Laszlo at my goodbye party. As dinner at the beach I had Ceasar Salad and Carpaccio (ofcourse... My favorite!) but there I managed to plan an Eco-tour around the islands for thursday.
Tomorrow I will go to Jost van Dyke and to Sandy Cay to do a dive and hopefuy see Manta Rays. In the afternoon I start with my surfing lessons.
Wednesday, a dive at RMS Rhone wreck and Dead man's chest island. After that maybe the zipline.
Thursday, the Eco-tour from 10am till 4pm. Where we will visit different islands, caves, snorkelling places and go to a floating-on-the-sea-ship-bar.
Friday, Vrigin Gorda! The Baths and a little of hiking!
Saturday, surfinglessons! Or switch friday and saturday, whereby I will go on friday to Anegada!
Still lots to do, lots to learn, lots to see, lots to experience!
