It's really cold, because I guess they thought that 5 airconditioners in a small room would be enough to make a refridgerator out of it. Well, congratulations, you managed! And not to forget that they have this huge fans on the ceiling, with propellers of 3 meters long. Producing enough cold air to be circulated and make everyone have a cold for the coming 2 days, because everyone is now coughing and spreading it around. Hooray. Well, Ayumi and everyone else, welcome to the Caribbean.
But let's now talk about something nicer, pleasant and optimistic. I am very happy that I have been travelling alone and I really did some great experience. This island, Beef Island Tortola (now I am getting hungry), has lots of things that you will learn from. One thing I learned this trip is that I do not have to be afraid to ask things as many times I can just to get things clear for myself. Otherwise I would have ended up on the wrong place several times. Well, this is also because they speak English with a dialect and slang... ("What his name? I no need that") Also even if I don't speak the language very well, I do not need to be shy.
Travelling alone brings lots of new things with it and especially how many people you got to meet. You think that you will meet lots of people when you are travelling as a pair, but seriously, as a single person you even meet twice as much people.
Since Tortola is very known for surfing and specially where I was staying, surfers would come and go every time of the day and like that you get to meet lots of new people. You ask them for suggestions, tips and more. You get things offered and before you know, you are going out on a trip with them to surf. Right now I also joined a foundation of Surfers who are also concerned about the coral reefs and the environment.
If my flight leaves today, and hopefully that will happen, I will be surfing the whole day tomorrow in Sint Maarten till it's time to leave to the airport. I am really excited since I did not get the chance today. Hopefully I will also be able to take some nice pictures of my last day to show everyone.
